using SLI with mixed GPU's or is It?

Hi I want to do SLI with my Leadtek gtx280 ,
I want to add another gtx280 to suceed , can I use another GTX 280 say XFX NividiaGeforce gtx280 etc to my Leadtek gtx 280 I have the bridge wich came with the leadtek ..

in advance thanks and will be observing this post off course..

You can mix cards from different vendors aslong as the core chipset on teh card is the same i.e. gainward 280GTX can be SLI'd with a XFX 280GTX but you couldn't SLI it with a 9800GT or a 260GTX.

Not sure why but i dont want mix cards for example i have a POV GTX280 and cant find another POV anywhere for a fair price. Lol even though i could pick another brand 280 but my OCD wont let me :p

Most of the time, the cards are identical outside of a branded BIOS.

Even then, the difference between the BIOSes are usually trivial difference that won't make a difference to them running in SLi.

Such as brand, clock speeds and so on.
