Ok, i have a plan to get a new hdtv lcd. I'd love to watch lots of avi files etc from my pc on the new tv, and had previously been thinking about getting a small htpc to put next to the tv.

However, i'm now thinking about just changing my gfx card to one of the new radeons with onboard audio, and using the hdmi running a cable to my tv. This will certainly be a cheaper option any way!

But - will i be able to keep using my xfi for my normal pc speakers? If not, is there a standard audio input on the 4850 as well as the dvi / hdmi?

Thanks for any thoughts offered!

I would normally say no because in the past it's been a bad idea to have two sound systems on the go at the same time. However I think this doesn't really apply now as long as you proper selecting of sources etc., is done.
