Hi all, just a quick one, I have my sisters old dell Inspiron dual core, what happened was the casing was in such dire condition and the nail on the head was her breaking the screen. I was wondering if it's worth using in a small project.

Take the bits from the inside and either make or find a small case. Mount the bits inside and use it as a small streaming box?

Would there be anything I would need to watch out for?

Hmm, possibly. You could easily get someone or have a little fun yourself and design a very thin case. I mean i could come up with great ideas for a desktop case that fits laptop hardware. It would be worth it, if you did it well and where up for a challenge!

If your making your case, i would watch out for which materials you use. For static reasons.

You could also make a case that is VESA compatible, and have it mounted behind a monitor and have a slot loading drive, so theres no mess what so ever :)
