Guys,
I am going to be purchasing a Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H motherboard along with an i5 3570K cpu but was wondering if I would be ok using my triple channel DDR3 ram that I currently own.

I have the following triple channel memory: -

Corsair 3 x 2GB DDR3 Dominator PC3-12800 C8, 8-8-8-24, 1600MHz (TR3X6G1600C8D)

&

Corsair 3 x 2GB DDR3 Vengeance PC3-12800 C8, 8-8-8-24, 1600MHz

I was thinking of using 4 x 2GB of the sticks above.

Just trying to save a few bob ;)

It will work in single channel mode.

Use 2 sticks to get dual channel mode

use 4 sticks and you will get dual channel over 4 banks.

Issue is mixing RAM isnt the best,

Cheers guys,

I would prefer to get a Dual Channel kit but I just cant decide which ones to go for as there is so much to choose from.

Anyone got any advice as to which speeds etc to go for. I dont want to spend a fortune and I would probably like to overclock them.

I spend most of my time gaming (mmo's), do I need 8GB or 16GB?

Questions, questions I know ;)

I went 32gb totally mad i know but at the time it seemed cheap, youve got 8gb there as it is ans they should run in dual, unless youve got issues or want to upgrade it will be fine,

However i went for a couple of sets of these

Depending on what cooling you go for you might like these

however you can take the tops off the doms anyway to save a bit or space or if watercooling the doms can be added to the loop for only 40 or so quid, somethin I plan on doing as and when I can stop spending money on unimportant things like rent and the car

you might get away with using 4 sticks in dual channel mode,@1600mhz,might need a touch more dram voltage and cpu vtt
