using two ones one number?

Hey all,

does anyone run two phones, one number ? can this be done with e-sim and a sim card?

or at worst just swapping the sim ? i guessing WhatsApp will be my biggest challenge?
 
currently do this on a samsung thats dual sim. theyve got built in functionality to support having 2 whatsapps etc.
ive also done it before on an iphone using an e sim and simcard but they dont let you have 2 whatsapp apps. you have to use whatsapp business for one of the numbers.

in a nutshell I want to have two active phones, one for my fitness and one for normal life, I have a large weighty pixel 6 for normal use, but want to use my pixel 5 for the trail running.

i don't mind physically swapping the sim card before i set off, so will look at that WhatsApp stuff now
