Ok, i have always wondered how this works and i hope someone can give me a guide.

Vivo - Video In / Video Out.

Ok, Video out - easy put your graphics on your TV, BUT heres what i want to do. I have a JVC Video camera that can put out the video by S-Video or Composit.

I have the Connectors thing for the XFX Card, so i plug it in, and connect my S-Video cable to the S-Vid In, Turn the Camera on and press play.

Now here comes the part i just cant work out, how the hell do you get whats playing off the tape into a .avi, .mpeg, .wmv Just anything so i can have it as a video on my pc!

Does anybody out there know!!!!!!

Thanks.

Software should come with the card.

Personally though I use virtual dub for capturing files.

Very easy to use, free, wide range of video and audio compression codecs and containers and easy editing. Remember though you'll need audio wires from the camera to the sound cards line in for audio. Remember that your pc will need to be powerfull enough to compress the video in real time.

Yes you should be able to encode in divx fine with ogg audio, probably xvid even.

You'll need a cable with red and white/black connectors on 1 end and a pc stero cable on the other to record audio, or a cable with 2 pc stero connectors if your camera supports line out, most likely it doesnt though. What camera are you using?

The camera can support Composit Audio, Video and S-Video.

Im unsure of the model at the moment as i am at work, the camera doesnt have USB like the other sony one we use, so is there not a program that can just pull off whats playing in on the Composit Audio and Video at the same time, do i need to rip both parts seperate?

On video Sources it says "No Video Sources"

Camera is plugged in, it charged and it is playing. S-Vid is connected to camera, and the "S-Vid IN" on my card.

Why do they make it so completcated, can someone please give me detailed advice how to do this please.

If you know whats wrong please tell me Energize - Thanks

I sorted that, when i installed the WDM a week ago, i didnt restart LOL!

Basically my only problem now is, i cant get the sound off with it.

How can u use composite out to get audio on my pc? Composit - 2.5mm Microphone?

Cheers Energize

I cant remember the exact name of the cable but on 1 end there is a standard 3.5mm headphone jack which connects to the computers line in, and on the other end are two normal composite audio connectors.
