I have set up a small network for a client with 3 PC's and a Laptop.

Now PC Number 3 (OFFICE03) has a shared folder with full access for all other machines. This PC also has Ultra VNC installed on it.

I have placed the PC into the DMZ in the router and now no-one can access the shared fodler as the router changes the subnet for this PC only to 255.255.255.252.

I had everything working fine without the PC in the DMZ and using port forwarding rules but the orignal router died and was repalced with an identical model (BT-2700HVG) and despite doing what I did beore the VNC connection is blocked everytime unless the PC is in the DMZ.

Is there a wat that I can get the other machines to view the ashared files whilst OFFICE03 is in the DMZ without having to change the IP of the other machines to static and placing them in the subnet 255.255.255.252.

Cheers

Not quite answering your question but.....I dont know the router you have but if its anythin like my old d-link DI604 then you may need to port forward in the virtual server AND add a rule in the firewall of the router to allow connections on that port. doing one without the other refuses to let anything through on the ports specified

Have created rules for the PC (it can be machine specific) and allowed TCP 5800 & 5900 and UDP 5800 &5900 ports as a rule and that is what Idid first time round, but for some reason the router still blokcs the traffic.
