Hi,

Just out of curiosity, i wanted to know is it possible to use a wifi phone as a wireless adapter (preferably usb connection) to connect to the internet.

I know it would be easier just buying a usb wirless adapter, though if you can connect a phone to the pc via usb and use the 3g signal to connect and share then shoudnt it be possible to do it with the wifi built in?

Just trying to get the most out of my phone lol. just so you know my phone is a Nokia E72.

Nokia does supply the OVI software in which the software recongises if there isnt an internet connection active then it will suggest using the network operators internet, but thats about it.

It's a bit more complicated that sharing the 3G/HDPSA signal because when your phone connects as a wireless device it is actually acting as a 'client' in it's own right rather than just as a modem. i.e. the router will assign it an IP address etc.

Obviously connection sharing should still be theoretically possible, but it isn't quite as straightforward as you might imagine.
