Is anyone doing this? I have it downloaded at the moment, but don't want to lose my Linux install from my HDD, and don't have room on the drive to triple boot Win 7 with Linux and Vista. Would I be OK doing this?

Sounds fine, though pointless. Just run 2 of them, not 3. Computer will boot up more quickly that way. Also, no point having 2 near identical OS'

I know...like I said, I don't want to run both Vista and Windows 7 together, as I haven't got the space and, like you say, there's little point. I just want to make sure that the stability is there before making the switch.

I have 7100 32bit running on my laptop, been running fine for a while now with no problems at all. I say go for it!

I have Vista and Win 7. Haven't loaded up Vista in months but I have it there just incase. If I were you I'd just keep Win 7 and Linux.

You'll be fine.

I've been running a V-Lited 64bit build 7229 as my main OS for about a month now. I had a standard 64bit 7061 for a few months before that. Both working great with everything.

I've been running Windows 7 RC x86 since it was released, found it to be an all round great OS, Still have XP pro on dual boot if needed but cant see me ever going back to it permanently.
I skipped Vista altogether and just stuck with XP till 7RC came out and it was definetly worth it.

I'm running it on my pc and have been doing for a while.Had some initial problems with it and google chrome but it's fine now.

I've been using it ages now, for some reason since I got an extra 8800GT it blue screens when it wakes up from Sleep so I've been forced to not use that for now and just turn it off, I think it's the fact I've enanbled SLI Ready Memory, although I have no clue what that does.

been using 7 for ages now as a main OS, in work and at home

can't fault it :)

i wouldn't use vlite though, it's not been updated in ages.

how well does it run on the NC10? does the desktop take a while to render etc? or is it faily usable

If you must use a prerelease of win7, make sure it's a build later than 7100, as i've found it to be, as expected, not as stable as vista and with some irritating bugs. I imagine later builds are better than this.

Interesting that you guys find it more stable than vista. I'm on x64 ultimate and it's rock solid, haven't had a problem with the OS in years. Haven't used the 7 RC enough to prove it's as stable, and i've had one crash with it, I think due to drivers. Few niggles here and there but for an RC it's very good, just don't think it's ready yet. Have yet to try a newer build.
