my new pc has an Asus M2N32-SLI deluxe motherboard with an integrated wireless card. i installed the included software and it works really well, but with no security on the network.

then i decided to put WPA2 encryption on (AES, pre-share-key) and it worked fine when i put it on, then it bluescreened about 5 seconds later.

the bluescreen identified the cause of the problem to be the Asus WiFi process, and when i restarted the computer, it bluescreened as soon as the WiFi app loaded.

i went into safemode and turned off the security, (on the card and network) and now everything is fine.

anyway, just running good ole' XP pro SP2.

anyway, there are a fair few people "borrowing" my connection, so any help here would be hot. ;)

OP: wep and mac's with OSX do work, just need to set it up right.
but saying that never use wep anyways, with kismac you can crack it in about 10min :).

Don't use the Asus software, let Windows manage the connection. Might have more luck.
the windows WiFi manager is a PITA to configure and doesn't co-operate with WPA2 very kindly.
