Using Xbox 360 steering wheel on the PC

Just getting back into PC gaming and currently obsessed with rFactor.

I'm using a wired x360 pad at the moment in XP which after a bit of configuring actually works very very well, but ideally I'd like to use a wheel. Now I know the 360 wheel isnt the best in the world but I do have one already. Looking around it seems that it will work with rFactor, but I cant see anything about force feedback working, which is essential really as the wheel has a rubbish feel without it. So does anyone know if it works before I shell out for the MS wireless dongle?

Also, anyone care to share their HDR mod settings? I've tried a few of the sim sites but they all look far too dark for my liking.

yeah works fine used it to play cm2005 with.

no idea on the hdr setting as i haven't played rfactor in ages sorry

Yeah, I bought the wireless dongle and it connected fine. It works Ok with rFactor but I cant get force feedback to work - did it work with CM2005?

yeah I think it did, might plug it back in and try again ill let you know the outcome.

Edit: Well CM doesn't have force feedback either must be using x-input like the 360 controller does.

thanks for tying. Googles around and looks like ff isn't supported yet. Just ordered a g25 to use instead, but typically this isn't supported in forza so will have to keep both I suppose.

Heh yeah good wheel got one of the them myself, sorry I couldn't be any help.
