UT 3 decent servers?

Does anyone know of any servers where people play properly, and are not just full of 10 year olds taunting constantly, camping and just feigning death for ridiculous periods of time? :mad:

Hopefully they are not all like that, i mostly play team deathmatch and vehicle CTF.
 
If you want a decent game you should try pickups (if you are unaware these are slightly more organised than pubs, everyone who wants to play adds up, and when it's full you are PM'd a server id to join). I've made a really long post in someone else's thread before, but take a look at http://justwarfare.com and somewhere (can't view the site at work) there's some info about pickups. They have two irc channels #mpukunreal.warfare and #mpukunreal.vctf on quakenet where you can add up to play. There are quite a few pickup channels including tdm / ictf / idm etc. on quakenet but I have no idea how active they are. I believe #mpukunreal.warfare is probably the most active pickup channel.. on some days there are two games going at once, which is a lot more than it sounds. ;)

At any rate I don't see how you can possibly have a problem with people camping on ut3 :p Makes them easier to kill generally
 
Ive never had a problem with campers:

1)Generally camping gets you killed!
2)If I do get killed by a camper I just go back and kill them because by definition they have not moved anywhere!
 
Cheers i'll check them out :) a bit of camping is ok, but when the guy literally parks his tank on the flag and doesnt move for the whole game it becomes ridiculous :( played for 2 hours on the same game trying to get the damn flag but it was still 0-0 cos literally no one moved out of their base so our team could never get the flag and they didnt even try to get ours, eventually just left because it got so damn frustrating! Then went on another one where a guy on my team just kept taunting whilst running aimlessly around our own base shooting his own team with the Stinger :(
 
I think the maps in UT3 are harder to camp on compared to the other UT series maps. On the Epic midway DM servers I don't find any of this sort of thing happening. Pickups are a good way to go as mentioned, there are some running on quakenet!

Is UT3 a lot more active than it was 2 months ago? Much servers with mods and custom maps in? Much instagib?
 
I'm always playing on the Epic DM servers or Team DM servers

The other modes don't interest me so wouldn't know, but again the Epic servers should be good

I've found a couple of Insta servers up, but not that many with people on. If you filter out Empty, Full and PW'd, you'll end up with a couple of iDM servers, 1 iTDM server normally (first and Only from memory), and a few iCTF servers. It takes a little while to find a good one, but when you do stick it in your Favs and hang in there. Also let me know and I'll try it out.

I've not found too many campers, but I know what you mean with the autotaunts, they annoy the **** out of me.

I've been on one server where at least two of the players had chat kill binds and it was v. annoying. Mainly cause I have text 2 speech on so I hear a line of text every time they kill someone. The sentences didn't even make sense either.
