With comparisons between each detail setting.

The Texture Detail setting did indeed increase texture resolutions as we moved the slider up from 1 to 3, but then we noticed that textures remained the same at levels 3, 4, and 5 from our spawn point in Heat Ray.

Seems like there could be more textures in the full game then, I just hope it still performs well with them.

Back to the benchmarks, my FPS is nowhere near as good, with lots of people on screen I dip to the 30's and 40's quite often, not sure what it is tbh.

Hmm well this is dodgy, hopefully the full game performs a tad better with the real settings and in Dx10, I dip down to the 30's a bit too often for my liking and I'm gonna start using 1920x1080 soon :X

Even overclocked I have the same problem :(

Or maybe a new nVidia driver will come out and improve performance lots like they did with BioShock.

it appears to favour ati cards?

anyway i get 25 - 60 fps and average 40 I would say on a demo high setting 1280 x 1024:confused: funny considering nvidia sponsors the game!

anyway, runs smooth and fast generally

I guess nvidia need to pull out better drivers and it is a beta

Well if you have a 7900GS then I'd have thought you'd be pretty happy running the demo on High at that resolution. :/

(Even though the High settings on the demo aren't quite High)

Maybe because he's playing the game with some action going on instead of walking round an empty map, it makes a huge difference, my FPS is far lower than most people but I'm playing in 64-128 player servers.

Suspsense 24/24 CTF
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
27336, 562918, 22, 98, 48.561

Shangwhatever 32/32 DM
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
28796, 637148, 21, 112, 45.195

:o

Gaaaaaaaaaaay.

Mind I've lowered my CPU clock so them tests were done at 2.3 Ghz if that makes any difference.

Hmm I don't know what's going on, I got near the same results on XP and I'm on a fresh Vista with the newest betas. :/

Your FPS was owning mine that's all. :)

I just updated my 965P's bios and OMG RESULT! I was using like the first bios back from December or something I think, hadn't updated since then at least.

My FPS is far higher now, on Shangrila looking out into the center from a ledge I'm getting like 70+ FPS, before I was dropping to the 30's.

Who'd have thought, the frickin motherboard bios was behind this...

The reason I ALWAYS keep up to date with these things ;)

Me too from now on, EVERYTHING. :p

Old bios:
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
28796, 637148, 21, 112, 45.195

New bios:
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
32112, 449664, 33, 129, 71.413

The first benchie was done on a 32 player server but tbh there was the same amount of action in most places and it was very smooth, the minimum frame rate appeared like once or twice that was it.:eek::eek:

I doubt I'll use AA in the full game either, if I can run this in Dx10 smoothly with all on max at 1920x1080 I'm more than happy, hopefully will be alright.

Can i ask what BIOS you are now on please? I have the exact same board and if its giving you such an increase, should boost mine a bit..in theory!

Thanks

F12 but I'm on the S3 board (DS3 sounds cooler :p), practically the same as the DS3 but they may have slightly different bios releases. Just go on the Gigabyte page and download the latest one.
