UT3 "Game is not available"

Ok so I decided to put my UT3 CD-key into steam and tie it to my Steam account. All worked fine and I let it run all the updates etc, no problems.

But when I go to run the game it says "Game is currently unavailable, please try again later". It's been doing this since I installed it last night, I've verified the games cache etc and it says everything is fine.

One thing that I do notice is occasional it attempts to update but only for a few seconds then fails, and goes back to saying "100% Ready". I've had a look on the Steam forums and there's nothing relevant there.

Anyone else managed to fix this?

Steams probably to busy with the free weekend going on. If your installing from CD you'll still have to install the titan patch which was a bit hefty, but with all the free weekendrs keeping the steam servers busy it cant download.

I had a similar problem with FEAR 2, had to remove it steam and reinstall it.

Antivirus usually causes this (in particular NOD32). Need to add Steam to trusted apps, or disable it.

Also make sure the UT3 install folder is unmarked from read only.

You cant still install the patch from elsewhere like gamershell.

Had the same problem myself, was very annoying for a while!
