UT3 .ini doesn't keep changes!

Hi Folks,

having read up on how to change my .ini files for UT3 I have been trying to get my mouse sensitivity right but everytime I change it in the UTinput.ini files and then go into the game the changes haven't been kept so I have to do the setsensitivity console command everytime I start the game. Whilst I am playing it works fine but if I come out of the game and go back in the sensitivity reverts back to default (1 in the ingame menu). So it won't stick my modifying the .ini or from console commands ingame.

However, things like removing mouse smoothing and acceleration work after having changed them in the .ini plus a few graphics settings have worked too.

Does anyone know what I need to do to get the mouse settings to stay?

Thanks a lot

Matt

Add -nohomedir at the end of the shortcuts target location (after the last ") and reload the game, settings will now save.

I have tried this and it still doesn't save, this is getting frustrating!

Basically, I have changed somethings in the ini file such as

Bindings=(Name="MouseX",Command="Count bXAxis | Axis aMouseX Speed=9.0")
Bindings=(Name="MouseY",Command="Count bYAxis | Axis aMouseY Speed=9.0")
MouseSensitivity=9.000000
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False

After following the instructions on a UT3 forum of going in game changing my sensitivity to 1 and then coming out and changing the ini, all of the changes save except for the mousesensitivity which always reverts to 5.00000. In game however it feels like the sens is 1 (as in it takes the value from the slider in the input menu) and so it is really sluggish. I then put the following into the console;

setsensitivity 9

and it increases to where I want it. If I look at the slider in the input menu it is still on one so the setsensitivity must overide it. What I want if for that change to save and for me to beable to go into the game with it changed.

The reason why I don't like the slider is the jumps between are too much. Setting my sensitivity to 9 makes it feel like 2.5 on the slider scale so there's much more fine tuning that can be done with this method.

Any other ideas on how I can get it to stick?

Thanks

Matt

Shot in the dark, are you using an offline profile? I had the same problem when i started playing but then i did some reading and created an online profile then everything was fine and dandy. Big bug they have.

I'm not sure, I have it set to automatically to log me in when the game starts, even if I am playing bots. I presume then that the profile I am changing is always my online profile. Is that correct or have I missunderstood what you mean with the different profiles?

What ini file are you changing, using -nohomedir forces the game to use the programfiles location INI files instead of the my documents one, you should be modifying the former not the latter

Hi,

I've tried changing both, with the -nohomedir and without. All the settings I change in the ini mentioned above works fine but it's just the sensitivity one that doesn't. I'll have a bit more of a play with it when I get home from work tonight.
