Any thoughts?

Maybe link it to steam and install through that?

Done that - still no dice

Lets get the basics sorted,

Is your operating system up to date?
Have you restarted the pc?
Yup that as well. Think it might be the 6950 card i have. Even Steam was bewildered by it when I fired L4D2. And yes it is running latest drivers.

I'm assuming you have done the obvious basics of checking their forums and support pages for the problem to see their suggested solutions?

Ye checked the forums and couldn't see anything. CHecking again just to be sure....

A shot in the dark

"If the ntdll.dll error only displays when you use a specific software program, uninstall the program, reboot your computer, and then install the latest version again from scratch.

Note:If the software program has any updates or service packs available, install them too. The software's programmers may have identified an issue with the program that caused the ntdll.dll error and then issued a patch for it.

Ntdll.dll errors could occur if you have an Iomega Zip drive on the same IDE cable as the hard drive inside your computer. If so, move the Zip drive to a dedicated IDE controller."

Another shot in the dark

Uninstall physx, then install ut3 again and let the ut3 installer install physx.

Worth a try

yesss i still have UT3 installed on steam but never play it now, i was a big fan of the old ut99 back its better days when we just called it UT! :)

UT3 only performs as well as it does because theres no ingame anti aliasing.

If you force aa then its still pretty stressful on your pc.

thats the only problem with a new pc is you can play the latest games but its not long before your going back to older games which always seem better to play :)

I play at 2560x1600 Edge Detect 24xAA + Super-sample & the gfx don't look dated to me & still looks better than allot of today's games in my opinion.

Well tbh UT3 IS my newest game; allow me to explain.
L4D2 is based on the HL2 engine which was out some years ago and Civ5 ain't gonna push any graphics card hard.
I believe they still use the UT3 engine (Mass Effect series?) so thought i'd see what I can get out of it.
Update on the original situation: Windows simply says its incompatible and trying to run in XP mode does nothing either. Maybe just wasn't meant for X64 OS?

I've been running it on 64bit for ages now, no problems with it.
Have you tried deleting your old profile in My Games? I've heard that has worked with this error. Either that or you could try a fresh OS install, incase something got screwed up along the way.
