Now I think that the pc game will be superior, and I have a pc more than capable of playing it at top whack. but I would be mostly buying it for online play. Is it true that the online pc community has pretty much bombed? How many people play this online on average at peak times? I dont want to buy it on pc if theres hardly any servers/players, so can someone advise me about the online side of things community wise. Thanks in advance.

Ok thanks, but are there plenty of players in those servers?

Theres normally quite a few, im sat playing at work now.. only wish I had internet access here.. but still blowing the bots to kingdom come is just as fun.

The online community for the PC is relatively small still.
I have confidence though that it will become more and more popular.

Remember you can play with a keyboard and mouse on the PS3 version and from a review I read the other day, the slowdown helps (speed of movement, not graphical).

Hhe, you aint going to get any other answer in here, but it is the truth, if you have a decent PC get it for the PC.

The ingame browser is crap and doesn't filter properly but there are enough servers, not exactly as many as say CS servers but give it a while, it is quite new and also has high requirements.

I think the first month is the most important factor whenever a game is gonna be a sucess or a failure imo

UT3 is a very good game, but unfortunally its too little too late, we should have had this in the year 2003, not 2007

Why is that, 04 was/is great imo.
yes I agree also that the opening month of a game usually decides it's fate, but I think this will become more and more popular. It might be because I'm a big fan and I have my blinkers on, but I know there are many people that are just waiting to get better PC's (many a hardcore dm'er dont really have good pc's since most of them run all at lowest possible settings anyways) and a lot of people are waiting for some bugs to be ironed out.
That coupled with the fact that this is pretty much the only fast paced fragtastic type of DM game out there since Q4 doesnt really have a big following. SO I guess UT is it's own conpetitor in the market.

You also have to remember that UT3 didn't ship with a lot of maps for CTF or DM and the ones that did ship a lot of players hate the maps. This is holding back the CTF and DM scene back at present as us mappers work on new maps or reworkings of classic maps from the past that will be perfect for the new game. Give it a few months and the scene will pick up once leagues, ladders are in the offing with more map choice.

Also from whats being said on the Epic forums the PS3 will not have in place the ability to import maps, mods that have been made for the PC at present due to licencing issues which need sorted out. Also if you want to map there isn't afaik the editor for the PS3 version.
