Wow, I just reinstalled UT3. It is great, fast action. Any of you play it? The UT2k4 mod, Ballistic Weapons would be awesome in UT3, but oh well.
 
Played UT2k4 a lot, but not UT3 too much...mainly because my favourite game mode (instagib DM) was empty on most servers (or just had the same faces playing each day). I guess the game didn't offer much over UT2k4 (arguably may have been worse in some ways), so people lost interest...

Kind of the same here, I loved this one UT2k4 server with Ballistic Weapons all kinds of cool weaps., but the admin took away some great weaps. I loved. So I reinstalled UT3 & it is awesome.

I know of a place, but it is a US site & prob. shouldn't link it here. Online shops are a no no here. The UK site prob. has it also. I sent you a youtube message. BTW, do you know of any good Ballistic Weapons UT2k4 servers, the one I played was changed by the admin & it kind of sucks now.

UT3 is awesome - pure DM fun and sparsely populated by a dedicated community (which feels like it it dwindling at times). Shame, because it is my most played game on Steam (by a proportion of about +300%).

Well what server you play? Does UT3 have a friend list like UT2k4, maybe if I add you when you are on when I am, we can play together. Time difference will be hard to match playing times though.
 
I play ut3 occasionaly, imo the only mode worth playing is Warfare, the rest of the modes are absolutely dire.

I'm a longtime ut04 fan and I will always buy and play ut games. But vctf is terrible and the other modes are dead online.

I play on the Epic Warfare Server (based in the UK) and the Jolt Server for VCTF mainly.

UT3 does have a friend list and I am called Masaai_Warrior.

You're pretty pro, I try my hardest but I'm always near the bottom of the scoreboards.

I just find the ut3 weapons damn near ineffectual most of them, the shock rifle ROF is too slow. I'm a bit of a stinger noob ehehehe.

Remember a guy called stinger froobs? God I used to hate him.

Thanks for the kind words Eames, although I think my skillz have pretty much a direct relation to the insane amount of time I have spent playing the game :eek: :)

I have to say, (a) In all the games I have seen you play you are pretty pro too! and (b) you are damn lethal with the Shock Rifle!

Weapons wise, the Rocket Launcher and Flak are the mainstays but Shock is amazingly effective once you get used to the ROF. And if you can nail moving combos (which is waaay more difficult in UT3 than 2K4), then you can annihilate 99% of the opposition - some of the guys on VCTF and BTA are ridiculously good at this kind of thing and a nightmare to duel against because they can one-hit you with Sniper and finish you with a follow-up Shock before you know it!

I wouldn't get hung up on the Scoreboard too much - obviously fragging nets you points, but so do orb-capping, holding a node with the orb, building nodes, attacking enemy nodes and the enemy core. If you do all those in a match you will be pretty high up there, but if you are on a strong team then it's a bit harder to - happens to me all the time :)

Lol to Stinger Froobs - he was a very talented player but could be a bit of a dick at times. I am sure he is kicking about on my BF3 Friends List as some other alias but damned if I know which one.
