Hi all, before Christmas we were due to have some building work finished including the laying of a new concrete pad for a log cabin. The night before this was due to happen, a pipe on our road burst and Yorkshire Water attended to deal with it. It's now a couple of weeks later and there's still no sign as to when the hole will be filled, and as it stands it's currently impossible for our builders to access our house with a cement lorry.
They have advised they could lay the concrete a different way but there will be additional costs which is fair enough (I'm assuming either hand mixing or piping it in from above the house). Having spoken to Network Plus on a number of separate occasions, I don't think we're any closer to having the hole filled (they don't have a clue what's going on) so going ahead with the alternative options is looking more and more appealing.
I'm keen to get things moving as we currently have a load of parts for our cabin sat on the driveway and although they're under plastic this was only ever intended as a temporary measure, so I'm worried about water ingress etc and damage while it's sat there.
However, given the circumstances, I don't think we should be on the hook for the additional costs here - has anyone got any experience of seeking to reclaim these?
I fully understand why the work needed to take place but leaving the hole for so long after the work was complete is just not on, particularly when just sticking a plate over it for access would have saved so much hassle.
