The Corsa Utility and the Ford Bantam(fiesta pickup)

Where these sold in the U.K?
Did either come in right hand drive?
What price would a one cost(second hand?)

Im really intrested in the Corsa Utility for a project car. Especially with all this stick on tat (photo thanks to Bug One, copyright Bug One Inc.)

Mic,
That wasnt a serious post was it?

Judging by the lads in my area, you'd be wanting either a Starlet Turbo or a Colt as a project car ;)
NO!
I shall in a few months be buying a 1.6vtec crx to keep my boy racer crap busy. And i may pick up a mk2 crx(old shape) for track days if i ever get round to it. Besides, i despise both cars. And i know what you mean about the lads in dublin. Colt/Civic/Starlet are so common now too.

Not bad. Any more info? Prices, any in the autotrader or anything like that? Still love the corsa though.

I shall hope he checks the thread then.
Curse your .CO.UK autotrader, i dont live in england, i dont have no zip code!

Muchos Thanks!
Im really liking some of them on the site.
Its now a serious contender for the project.
Id still love more information on the corsa(specifically what kind of price they go for second hand.

Indeed. However when i do searches on irish car places i find nothing but god damn vans. May aswell import from the U.K if i do go for it. Still torn thought about that corsa.

ANYONE have more info on the corsa?

The Corsa Utility is sold in South Africa, so will be right hand drive. There is a new model as well which looks quite nice Corsa Utility
Ah i see. So it is right hand drive then. Excellent.
The new ones is quite spiffy, never buy one new though.
Im just looking for a nice project car. Thanks for the info.

Are there any other cars like this?
So far theres the fiesta(nah) corsa(uw er misses very nice) and the caddy(stabby stabby:D). Any more contenders?

From the back that Corsa pickup looks ace..
Man, when I was thinking of posting this thread I actually thought "im gonna have Fox, mr.sensible himself come in and just say "Buy a jeep, or a trailer""
Wootism on the agreement of how nice the corssa looks.

After much thought and the serious lack of info on the corsa, twinned with the utter bargain of a Caddy. Around March-April of this year I shall indeed purchase a caddy(if something of the same configuration doesnt pop up)
Im going to modernise it a little compared to some of the other modified ones out there (no wire wheels and mat black paint, even know mat black would look gangsta).
Stay tuned for word of me and my adventures in the coming months.

Mk1 CRX's are the way to go - they are very quick and very light.
Have you SEEN the price of insurance for those yokes though - it's mental.
I've been looking into track days in Ireland - quite expensive, and they dont like to let young lads out onto the track after some maxedoutpower club or something had a major crash in mondello.

Mark
The insurance is indeed mental on the old ones. But the CRX i shall be driving daily is the mark 3 DelSol. 1.6VTEC.3200 euro roughly a year. And at 18, thats not god damn bad to be honest.

The other CRX however, for track days will be a completely gutted out one, off the road version. It wont ever be seeing road use. I hadnt heard anything about them leasing out the track for track days . I thought Mondello did their own days about 5 or 6 times a year. And the requirments are just 18+,full license. Im going to do some of their driving days first though.,I know the track pretty well(did helping hand to the recovery truck since i was about 10)

Maxedoutput club?Havent heard of em, but now that you mention it I did hear some cars racing mid week a couple times a few months back since i live bout 3 miles down the road. Must have been track days. Though i can understand why they dont like young fellas going out, some of them act complete retards.

Other than that, i should be fine (should be doing trackdays in england though aswell)

(what a very very long post:O

That's not bad at all actually - who's that with? Apparently AXA, Quinn Direct & hibernian are the ones to talk to. I assume you have a full license...

I got one of those driving days for my 21st, and I'm waiting till june to do it - should be good :D
We're thinking about heading up north to do a track day soon - it's a fair bit cheaper.

The name was a joke :) My mate was told that a load of young fellas came out in tuned up starbos and the like and there was a big crash and general acting the fool. They dont let one-make days or young people out now (according to the bloke on the phone). Maybe he was just being grumpy :)

Right now the quotes through tesco, brokers for hibernian, which is stupid cause hibernian wouldnt qoute me last month and this month they want 4100, pfft. Britton Insurance in Donegal seem very good, but you have to ring them about a quote on imports, which I will do whenever i get the car. Full license indeed, since i was 17 infact. 5 month wait after my birthday.

What tracks are up the north that do trackdays? I didnt even know there was tracks up there at all!

I actually did hear about that Starlet I think, wrecked the thing into the bank. Still, wasnt as stupid as the spectator who drove his civic off the embankment!

Firestar_3x: You win a cheese sandwhich.

Im guessing I do, its about 250 euro and you get it refunded when you join up. Iv heard stories though of the instructors being useless.
