i recently start to use utorrent but no matter what i do in utorrent setting, slow internet browsing, even slow browsing in netgear webGUI as well!

i've set the upload speed to 10kb/s, still slow!! NAT test passed

been using Azureus for long time and never got this problem.

what could make utorrent slow down the whole network?

cheers

Check the number of concurrent connection allowed per torrent.

If that is high, it might slow down the network even if your upload speeds are set lower.

I get this prob too, utorrent is set to 100 connex per torrent....

What would be a more reasonable number without impacting my download speed too much?

Thanks :)

How many works for you will depend on how much RAM your router has, and how well it handles expired connections. In other words, trial and error are your friends.

Hardly a great shock is it - where did you think it stored its data?

For what it's worth

I get major slow down if I dont set max upload rate to say 40. If I leave it on 0 (unlimited) it slooows everything down.

How do you think....

That's just it, I didn't "think" about it before, until it was mentioned in this post.

It's called the learning process, even tolien and youself go through it. ;)
