uTorrent Problems

When I close uTorrent to play games or do some surfing, Zone Alarm goes mental. Seems that even though uTorrent is closed, I am still getting connections on my BitTorrent port from remote PC's. Is this normal? I would have thought that once uTorrent was closed, the remote clients would no longer attempt to connect? Currently upto about 260,000 blocked access attempts and growing quickly.

Anyone got any info or ideas?

Have only just swapped to Zone Alarm, but never used to see this in the logs with Sygate. Is this just a feature?

When you close uTorrent it'll report to the tracker that you are stopping the torrent, and so remove you from the peer list. Obviously this will only take effect on other clients once the client updates the tracker, which'll take a while for this to happen on all of them.
 
Yeah, understand what you are saying, but I'm still getting connection attempts 1.5hrs after closing uTorrent. Is that still classed as normal? I thought tracker updates were quite frequent?
 
other users may have torrent programs which don't update that often

utorrent is damn good tho :) /spits on azureus
