uTorrent write problem

I'm currently using Azureus to download torrents, but I don't want all the extra features they've added. I want to go back to uTorrent as it is purely a torrent downloading program.

Slight problem though... I set up my hard drive as 40GB C:, 160GB D:, C: is my windows partition obviously, and D: is my data partition.

When I install uTorrent on either C: or D: and try saving my torrents in D: I get a write error, uTorrent can't save there.

Is there any way to make it able to write across partitions? I want to install it on C: and have it save files on D:.

Edit: would a mod move this to software please? I think it'd get more views there, plus this is kinda the wrong forum anyway. ;)

It the options bit under Downloads you get the option to set where you want downloads to go and where you want completed files to be moved to. That works for me on different partitions

So for you, you have uTorrent installed on C:, and when you open a torrent file to download, it saves to D: without any problems?

I used to have mine like that, but it didn't work.

Mines installed on D, downloading to E (1.7Beta).
C=XP, D=XP64, E=Storage

All i can think is that maybe there is something wrong with your D drive and permissions?

I've had problems in the past when trying to save files using ie and it saying, you dont have permission to save here.

One thing you could try is to install Partition Magic, i did this recently to check a partition and found that my whole hard disk had a problem. I had to delete all partitions and start over because of it. Annoying, but my computer is running so much better now

I've tried uTorrent again, and it works. :)

I guess it might have been a problem with an older version or something as I haven't changed anything.

Might be because I forced download too though ( uTorrent said it was queued, and its status didn't change for a while).
