Utter confusion

Last week I walked into the Apple store in Regent's Street, bought a new keyboard on my debit card and walked out of the store with it in a bag. Nothing else, no signing up to anything, no promotions or edu discount.

The next day I received an email from Apple to my university account asking if my experience in the Apple store, Regent's street was acceptable the day before with a link to a survey.

I'm utterly confused. I've never given them my email address, nor is it linked to my bank account (I use my ISP for that).

Anyone have any idea how they knew?

When you type your e-mail address on the new Apple keyboards, it secretly transmits data to Apple.

Either that or Steve Jobs went home in your bag. :D

When you registered your computer you will probably have put some contact information in there. That might have tied up with billing information on the purchase?

Never registered my mac with Apple (was from MM).

Sidethink's probably got it, I think this card is registered to iTunes. I've never bought anything from it, but I can log in.

Cheers matey :)
