Ok, I have the most stupid issue here.

I am trying to download a file. Its a ZIP file. It contains a few files for an Atari Falcon.

Now, the ZIP file itself is fine. Other people are fully able to download it and use the files, but I have not been able to? - Not 100% reliably anyway.

I have managed to get the files out, however, when I use the files to flash the BIOS, it wont boot and I have to re-flash with older BIOS.

Why the hell is this?

I normally use 7ZIP and for absolutely 100% of every other ZIP file I extract I have no issues. I have also tried using Windows itself and sure enough, I can access the files by going into it, and copying the files out, but as I said, the files seem to be corrupted in that they dont flash the Falcon properly.

Anyway, if anyone fancies looking to see if they can access the file, then please let me know.

Oh, Im on Windows 7 and I use AVAST 5.

I will also add that I have also used Mint 9 and GZIP and everythign seemed to be fine but it failed to flash?

The zip is fine and extracts fine but the files have non-existent permissions on them.

At a guess, it's most likely down to how your making the device bootable.

Ok, thanks for the MD5 - Its 100% the same as I get. So I must therefore be downloading it just fine.
This ZIP is the one and only ZIP file that I have issues with. I doubt that I have any hardware thats to blame?

TNTENCODER :
NON Existent permissions? - Ok, well, I know that it was ZIPped up using ST-ZIP and thats many years old, so I tried to extract it using the same program, however I thjen got a message saying the ZIP Was dammaged or not a ZIP File at all.

- - - -

Ok, so I may be downloading it fine, however while Windows' ZIP extraction allows me to extract it, both 7ZIP on the PC and ST-ZIP on the Atari both fail. However on other peoples Ataris, ST-ZIP Does not fail... Only mine?

WTF?

Hmm... How sodding irritating.

Yes, the files are better now, however in the process the FLASHING tool has lost its Executable status ( Not a problem I have that from Previous Archives ) and the Firmware file is still borked?

Why me?

Im thinking that the actual device that I am trying to flash has an issue.

But then, why am I perfectly able to recover from a badflash by using v1.3 or v1.4 firmware?

Doesnt make sense to me?

Can I possibly ask one more favour?

Could you perhaps EMail me the CTPCI.BIN file from that archive so I can test the file on its own?
