V+ Remote Stopped Working

Can anyone please help me, my V+ remote stopped working (checked the batteries, batteries were fine) and called up their call centre to get a new one sent out, they said that it would take 7-10 working days to get it done.

Question is, is there any remote controls you can buy from ASDA, Tesco etc that would work short term changing channels etc until the new remote turns up?

I don't think I could go a week having to get up off my back side changing channels

Leave the remote without batteries for a goods 2-3 hours and try that.

I'm sure many 'universal remotes' will be able to do what you ask.

The reason I ask is that virtually ALL the reviews and specs I have read for these things mention only Sky as an alternative! I will keep on plugging away and see what I come up with!
