V+ upscaling questions...

I'm thinking of getting V+ and heard it upscales all the SD channels to HD if you tell it to, does this also apply to stuff that goes through the SCART in?

For example, the V+ box will be connected to my telly via HDMI and i'll have a couple of (non HD) games consoles like the wii and PS2 going into the back of the V+ scart socket. Will the PS2 be upscaled?

IIRC the V+ box turns scart off when HDMI is enabled. Other than that if it supports scart in it would just be for passthrough.

Yep, you seem to be correct, there was a code drop in the middle of March which enabled output on the VCR SCART whilst HDMI output was enabled. It seems that the VCR SCART will output a composite signal only and not RGB so the picture quality is borked.

The box is still not capable AFAIK of the scaling of external sources that the OP wants to do but to be honest I can't really see any advantage from trying to upscale an external source with the V+ box when an HD ready TV will do the job anyway.

The best option for the OP is to connect the games consoles with either RGB SCART or Component at 480p.

Aye, I probably will connect it up. I just wanted to be lazy and do away with the TV remote control that is only used to change inputs!
