Hi,

Just started to rip my V1000 to bits to fit my nice shiney new (and smaller) Corsair HX620 PSU - looking to add more HDD's and the Tagan was too big to allow the drive cage to remain.

Fiddled the drive cage in (not screwed down, can't see where to fix it in...) and dropped the PSU in. So far so good. ATX power and 4 pin power plugs onto the motherboard - doing well.

Then I realise the problem. The PSU being Modular needs further cables plugged in. This simply will not happen with the additional drive cage in place. The space available is around 0.5cm and the plugs are just a shade bigger :/

Any ideas on how to deal with this? I'm thinking it will be a job of getting a new case where the hard drives and the PSU do not sit by each other.

Any solutions welcome.

theres a cd drive bay hdd caddy thing by lian li. takes up 2 drive bays and fits 3 hdd's. Or theres a bigger one too i think. On lian li website :)

I was looking for a more of a solution that would be working today :)

Got one but still annoyed at the fact I can't use the second hdd cage as intended :(

got pics while I was there

Mostly useless as it's just a mess of SATA cables running up alongside the CPU fan though.

Nice and quiet now though

2 x Akasa Ambers @ ~900rpm, 1 x Akasa Amber @ 1200rpm on the CPU (I think....) and the PSU :)

4 HDD's for 1.82TB - gonna need to jump to the A70/A71 I reckon.....
