I'm on the hunt for a new case:
I like the look of the v1000, after being the PC7 growing on me I've gone off it as it is a little borin.
are windowed sidepanels available for the V1000 ?
can people show some pics of theirs and any mods done to them ?

thanks

I sent a webnote to OcUK about the picture for the silver V1000 and the window that it has and the guy said.

'The picture you see is the product we are currently selling.

So im guessing it comes with the window.'

lol very professional of him

I very much doubt it comes with the window tbh. But if you got it in writing then when it turns up without it, demand it off them. :D

ah but the black one doesn't show it with a window :(

oh bth I found out the case layout is WTX if thats right or not I dont know

can people with this case post pics?

I'd hug mine every day if it wasn't locked into this desk...

ahem.

Great cases, I think the only problem with the window version over the Plus II is losing the side 120mm exhaust vent for your GPU. This is only a problem for some people though but worth considering.

The V1000+ doesn't have that - There's a rear blower which helps instead.
Puts warm air out the back of the case.

So functionality not affected.

for when I get my new V1000 :P will I need huge cables? + the power connectors from my Psu are tiny. its a Hiper type R modular PSU. I have trouble with getting them to stay in with my current case (sunbeam samurai). also I want some badass cables, I'm looking at the the dayglow orange sata cables. the only other problem is my IDE cable to the CD drive. its quite short and I think its common with IDE cables its like an inch wide. can I get one that looks as thin as a sata cable ? is there anyway to plug my cd drive into the mobo thru a sata conversion cable of some sort. I may be talking complete bull**** but IDK :p

thanks

Hmm, i do believe it is possible to get a cd-rom to run througha SATA port, that was supposed to be the general idea of where the industry was actually going at one point! But dont think its caught on yet.

You mite be able to buy one from somewhere, but i certainly dont think theyre very advertised to say the least...

Heh, think you missed the point where I mentioned the Plus II (current version), which has the front and rear plus the side and some other small tweaks.

Power cables for hard drives should be fine, if you put your optical drive lower you should be good there too. Power for the motherboard depends on the placement of the 24pin connector, if this is high on your board (which = low in the V1000) then you should be good.

With the V1000 you will hardly see your IDE cable at all with it comming so close to your motherboard, but if you want thin cables then OcUK sell plenty of rounded cables. I've never used a sata adapter, but you can get sata optical drives, samsung and liteon on this site have sata versions.

kewl thanks.
I need a new drive anyway cuz mine is total rubbish, it wont play dvds and it was sold as an all in one type of thing. do I really need a floppy drive?
should I mod a window or buy one ?

thanks
