I have this case and I am going to be upgrading my system with a Conroe setup. However looking at the motherboards forConroe nearly all of them have the silent heatpipe coolers on them. With this case having the upside down motherboard mounts am I going to run into any problems using one of these boards.

I'm running an ASUS A8N-SLi32 with the stock heatpipe cooler in a V2100+. The board temp varies around the low 40s - is this good, I don't really care. The machine is stable with a reasonable overclock (forget the exact amounts) so I'm happy.

Spot on, all that needs to be said.

Try it with conroe board, if it does not like it whack a 80mm 5v fan to blow on it if the manufacturer has not released one. :)

Very easy to do most of the time.

i must say i'm very impressed with this lian li case, only put my HDD's in before and i just loved the way they slot in and lock in place, pure class,

only thing is the dam thing to too deep to put back where my thermaltack soprano was, dammit!!

Hi bigstevex,

Mate could you email me got a few questions about the v2000 and your trust isn't enabled.

You should be fine with the heatpipes on the mobo if you do what others have suggested and put a fan on it. You could probably attach one to the post that runs down the middle of the case top to bottom.

Yes I am going to give it ago. Conroe temps seem low anyway. I bought this case because I have 8 hard drives and it suited my system. It is the best quality case I have had (and I've had a few). I just don't see any advantage in the motherboard being upside down. It looks like heatpipes are becoming more common and I bet they do not design any new cases with this upside down arrangement.

If I have any problems I can get the Bad Axe MB anyway. I was thinking of using the Gigabyte board because of the number of SATA ports.

Thanks for your advice.

Trust is for contact details and MM use for feedback on sales. :)

Can I say that you can post your questions in here or make a new thread, if it is not safe for the forums then you can not send a email about it either to another forum member by the rules you agreed to when you signed up.

Feel free to post a conversation between you two on the case in CC, just post a FAO: to them.

If it is above board it it ok.

There should be a trust button next to the button that says quote for me, if you click that and login with your forum username and password and fill it in, then re-click mine you will see what its about. :)

i've just got in off nights, i'll do it in the morning, its huge though, you could fit 2 psu's in there if necessary i think, a bit of modding maybe necesary though.

also a modular psu will fit (my tagan 580w does) But i had to connect all the wires first!
