v2000+ vs g70

got some money together at last for a new case and am stuck between these 2 i no both of them are great cases but i just dont no which one and my only concern is with the v2000 and my asus a8n32 mobo i no people have these installed with a fan on the chips but am just wondering if its possible to get a third party chipset for the north bridge and south bridge :confused:

also with the layout of the v2000 and the cables from the psu and the sata lengths of cable, am going to go for silver as i already have some drive covers from an old pc65, on a side note creative no that there is more than one colour of cases so why do they insist on sticking with black for the front of the drive sections on there cards

ps. if you have one of these cases could u please post a pic of your rig please

I've got no problems with an A8N-32SLi Deluxe in a V2100+, no extra heatsinks etc.

The PSU cables are fine with a Seasonic S12, the PCIe connector reaches the top slot OK but it won't go any further. SATA might be a bit of an issue, I'm running cables from the mobo to the 5.25" bays so no problems there, the drives I have downstairs are connected to a PCIe RAID card which came with 60cm (I think) cables and they reach with plenty of slack.

cheers for reply m8 i have a hiper x psu and am hoping the cables reach the top of the case for the drives and fan controller :confused:

I used a Hiper in my v1000+ and there was a fair bit more movement left in the molex connectors, dont know if it would be enough to get right to the top though.

If it does not you can pick up an extender / y splitter for a couple of quid.

If your using watercooling I would get the G70 everytime, but otherwise my hearts with the V series.

Why do you need the v2000 over a v1000?

got plenty of y spiltters around and am after a full tower over a midi because of hard drive space, got 6 so far (just over 1tb)

Bah ive got to fit that many in a Sugo.

(might stick some on USB though.)

v2000+ is a cracking case, looking at the pictures of my Hiper I posted in another thread I think it would reach easily now.

I can see why the IDE one is inverted, otherwise the cable would be going in the wrong direction but the sata ones I'm not so sure about. Doesn't make any difference reaaly which way up they are as long as their horizontal or vertical.

Everything is as described on the site the

Lian-Li PC V2000B PLUS Black Aluminium Full-Tower (No PSU) (CA-029-LL)

Is definately a PLUS version. the silver one will be PLUS with the next delivery of stock.

so at present the silver that is in stock at the moment is still the none plus version then

Yeh, both the v2000 and v2100 in silver are the older non-plus cases.

I would hold fire personally until they get the new stock in if you want silver.

He was reffering to their future stock I think.

Just a misunderstanding somewhere along the lines and not really a problem.
