Hi,

I bought a car 6 weeks ago and never recieved the V5. I went onto the DVLA site and to request one it costs £19, is there not another way to get this?

I guess the guy who i bought it from hasn't sent it, he seemed a bit of a useless **** tbh. I trusted him with another thing and he let me down, now I am unable to get hold of him.

Please advise :)

I think they say it can take 6 weeks? Id wait a little longer if possible. :)

Only just got the one for my new car - been waiting at least 6 weeks, Id forgotten all about it!

The onus is more on them to send it, than it is for you to get it. Don't fret about it, tbh. 'slong as you have proof of purchase (i.e. a receipt) then it'll just be headache for the previous owner should it come to the worse.

Hmmm...Where are them speed cameras.

Hehe.

no-one in their right mind wouldent send it, it gives them a world of **** come tax/speed camera. Wait longer.

if it never comes then just ring them, say you sent it weeks ago where is it! they must have lost it ;) . They will probably wave the charge. I did that and it worked.

Do you have the green slip of the V5 otherwise known as the V5C/2?

If so you can send that off with a V62 and you don't have to pay the £19.

Photocopy ANYTHING you send to the DVLA. Paperwork has an extreme habit of going missing when it goes through their hands.

The old owner has probably forgotten to send the old V5C in. Nowt to fret about unless you actually need the V5 for any reason, but the new owners supplement is normally enough anyway.
