Company car time again. Not a good list. Il give you the petrol highlights:

Seat Leon FR 1.4 TSI (122bhp)
VW Golf SE 1.4 TSI (122bhp I assume?)
Ford Focus Titanium 1.6 (125bhp)

I prefer the look of the Leon to the Golf considering they are basically the same car. The FR comes with 18" 'Iberia' alloys, climate control, Bluetooth, sports seats and body kit. It looks more aggressive than the Golf.

What is the 1.4 TSI VAG lump like? A £195 remap takes it to 150bhp, adds another 40lb of torque and takes the 0-60 time to 7.9 secs. Not bad surely whilst returning 40+ mpg?

Lol the FR is just a trim level now? Shame.

I'd have one of the VAG cars but whichever is up to you. I believe the FR is more likely to have goodies than the Golf SE but then the Leon interior might make you rage.

I hate the Leon interior - wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

The golf is better... but not by much.

The 150-160bhp version of the TSI engine is actually incredibly well made - feels much better than you'd imagine.

Although - from that list - I would pick the focus!

I quite like the new(er) ford interiors :)

The 1.6diesel version is pretty good for its size too - if that's an option.

Golf for me

The new focus is rubbish imo, pedal weights are horrible, graphics on the displays are horrible, steering is horrible and all round visbility is poor too. Maybe the ST will change the **** control weightings and have a better look to the displays but that doesn't help with your choices

The interior of the leon is pretty "unique"....ie ugly- I looked inside a revised one recently and, whilst its better than before I can see no reason to choose this over the golf when its a co car

The golf is, well its fine. The vag 120ish tsi isn't a bad engine either, very keen for its given output

I'm pretty sure that you're not allowed to remap a company car, so I wouldn't even factor that into the equation.

Having a job > BHP

They wouldn't fire you for it... But the lease company may try to claim for "repairs"... Which would end up getting billed to you.

I was going to get an M3 on lease and found out the penalties for ever taking it to a track... I'll do that when I can afford to buy one :s

with regard to the Golf it depends which engine :)

I've test driven the TSI 140 and owned a TSI 170 (circa 2007/8ish) and both were great to drive but I'm not sure what the current offerings are like.

Certainly an engine I'd take in a heartbeat over the awful dag dag I have now :D

I didn't really have a problem with the Leon interior, there's nothing garishly awful about it, everything looks solid and well built like the golf. The focus interior is ridiculous, feels like you are sitting in child's spaceship toy, I hate chrome as well.

The Seat interior is nasty

The golf is really nice, especially if you are able to spec Nav and Climate?

Hmm didn't know there was a facelift. It is slightly better, but still awful. Even with Nav and Climate there still loads of open nasty horrible plastic surrounding the dash area.

Steering wheel look nice however!
