Are these sold separately ?

I'm looking for a Micro-CAN cable but the Ross Tech website only lists one with a full VCDS license for $249.

Is it possible to buy the cable separately and use VCDS-lite or some other piece of software ?

This is for a 2006 Mk2 Leon.

Depends on what you want to do.

A HEX-CAN cable that is VAG-COM/VCDS compatible is about £26 on ebay, but these are unlicensed, so can't clear DTCs and can't access all modules/addresses.

I've sent you a bit more detail in trust.

What are you wanting to use it for?

Only reason I ask, is because I bought a VAG 405 handheld code scanner, and its brilliant.

Can scan and reset pretty much everything, including airbag / abs / engine etc. It can also reset the service light and change service intervals.

This is on my Seat Toledo (mk2), so pretty much the same platform.

If you are wanting to do some really fancy stuff then you will need VCDS. But with you mentioning you wanted the lite version, the unit I have does everything VCDS lite can do (that im aware of).

I have the full Vag-Com cable. The Hex+Can (I think). As far as I know, the licencing system for the full software is built into the cable as I've been using it on loads of laptops and its been fine.

(Not relevant as such but some added info for you)
