My car (2002 1.8T Passat) went in for it's 100k service today and there was a fault code about the secondary air flow being low.

The service invoice says "Removed and installed air cleaner box, checked hoses to secondary air pump, if fault returns suspect secondary air pump"

I was quoted "About 170 - 230 for the pump + VAT + Fitting"

As I'm in the process of selling the car does anyone know the part number and where I may find a slighlty cheaper supply?

Just read through the post again mate, and it looks with they have cleared it on the 1551.
I would leave it, unless you want to get it re-read again which will cost you £££'s, or just leave it till the next service. :)

ive had a look on my ETKA but ive only got the code for the ATW 4 cylinder 1.8 2001, im not sure if its the same but maybe someone can tell you.

078 906 601 D

I would use the code and phone up a VW garage, ask them to verify the part to see if it would work on your car.

Cool, that seems to match up with this ebay ad! >>>>>

Ok the warning light has come back on so I'm going to need to get the pump done!

Any advances on what the part number would be? I've been offered an alternative part number of 06A 959 253B
