So I've had one of these a while now, no real regrets on it apart from the slow ass drive it has! :(

I have now invested in a hybrid drive (Momentus XT) and was just wondering if anyone had tried one of these drives out. As of now it's not actually in my laptop but I do assume quite a performance boost over my current drive?1

in a way yes, it's a choice between it going in an external caddy or the fuss of a reinstall after putting it into my laptop.. hardly rocket science tho eh?

Funny enough, I got an E series recently as well and the 1st thing I did was replace the HDD. I put in a 500gb WD black though and my laptop boots in less than 25 secs so i recon the XT should give even better performance. Also, I did a clean install too but i cloned the recovery partition to the new hard drive as well

I've got a Momentus XT in my E-Series laptop. It was a breeze to install (replace original 500gig drive) and performance is so much better, boots in about 20 odd seconds.

Replacing the HDD in my e series taught me the HDD mounting mechanism is ****
The two screws and the metal clip at the opposite ends to the ports are a really tight fit, think they got all bent up as I pushed them in :(

Put in a 500G WD Black same as Temi, no big complaints but the drive vibrates a bit through the wrist rest, and has a fairly bad impact on battery life. I don't know how a Hybrid drive would affect battery life? Possibly not as badly as a raw 7200?
