Rumours all over the place that AC/DC are calling it quits after Malcolm Young has had a stroke :(

Big part of my youth.... :(

What is that word you put before AC/DC?

Anyway, excellent news, hopefully everybody will forget about them and my band won't have to play at least 10 AC/DC songs per night.

Just read about it.

Feel so bad for him. I lost the ability to play guitar after a stroke.

So upsetting to lose it all in an instant :(

Anybody know what the OP means by Vale AC/DC?
No idea. A more appropriate title would be "AC/DC are calling it quits.."

In some ways I'm sad, but in most ways I'm happy. They haven't released a decent album since Back in Black and they're old as **** :p.

Its a shame i was really hoping to go to the 40th anniversary tour as i imagined it would be my last/first chance to see them before something like this happened.
And airbourne are good but they are just an ac/dc tribute.

Apparently they started as an AC/DC tribute.
When they played at The Sugamill a few years ago in between each song one of them would play an AC/DC riff for a few seconds but when I saw them twice at bigger venues they didn't.

I saw AC/DC 3 times with Bon Scott and I can still remember when they were pushed into the 'New Wave' genre and also called a 'Poor Mans Status Quo' :D
AC/DC have earned me a lot of money over the years and I still perform up to 10 AC/DC songs per gig so total respect.

Saw that :). Old codgers they may be, but still the biggest and best. Only the stones would be comparable.

I like AC/DC but I've always struggled to see past the fact that Brian Johnson has been doing a vocal impression of Bon Scott for 30 years

Actually listening to some of the Geordies stuff, he does sound pretty much the same. I saw something with him singing in a completely different style in the 70s

Sorry mate but that is actual rubbish you are coming out with.

Bon Scott would be incapable of singing Brian Johnson material, the voices aren't even remotely similar however Johnson can easily get in Scott's range.
You only have to look at the vast amount of tribute bands around - if a singer is capable of singing Johnson material (eg Dirty DC) then he will also take on Scott material however if the singer can only sing Scott material (eg DC79) then they only do Scott material.
Other bands like Livewire have two vocalists so they can accurately cover the two distinct voices and our own local AZ/DC tribute band have just had to split up because Spider (the singer) could only do a cracking job of Scott material but the band want to cover all AC/DC.
