"SEGA will be releasing Valkyria Chronicles on 31st October, a fortnight earlier than expected.

This is the PS3-exclusive turn-based and real-time strategy game painted in a pretty watercolour way.

There's a PSN demo on the way next week, which is helpful, given as we know relatively little about the title so far."

Dam, I forgot about this, how many bloody games are coming out this fall, it's crazy seriously, glad there's a demo on the way, anybody temped by this ?

Is this the same game that came out on the 360 in Japan? Is it out here on the 360? I'm confused!

Nope, PS3 exclusive!

You'll be thinking of Operation Darkness, the 360 turn based stategy jrpg that didn't get released in Europe.

Valkyria Chronicles is not an absolute exclusive though and apparently started life on the 360 (http://www.seganerds.com/2008/04/08/valkyria-chronicles-began-life-on-xbox-360/) so it might get ported at some point.

Looking forward to peoples views on it.

I've been keeping an eye on this game, especially after IGN played and raved about it at E3. Shame it isn't getting much publicity and is being released in October as I have high hopes of it being a very good game :)

It was much better positioned as a November release.

Just played the demo of this. Turn based strategy game based around WW2. Quite good fun really, will probably buy this despite my general distaste for JRPGs!
