Hi

My brother is going to sell his a4. Its a 1.9 TDI year 2001 i think. It has a FSH and in good shape. Its does have high miles at 145k. Was a english company car and had about 120k when he bought it over 2 years ago. What would it be worth now roughly ? Lots of MOT and TAX and has just had a clutch and service. Its silver with cloth interior in real clean spotless condition with the usual VW spec. Electric everything, AC, CD changer etc.

A motorway mile muncher all its life :)

Around £5k would sound right. If its the 01-05 shape thats a lot of flash for not much cash if its in excellent condition.

I very much doubt it has electric everything though as most of the A4 range had manual seats. You probably mean it has electric windows.

Seats are of no worry generally, but yeh its a pretty high spec. Move seats once and thats it til ya sell the car. Its def in great shape. Only one tiny trolley dent on front arch, otherwise a few chips but nothing serious. Great driving car. I have the chance to get it as he wants a 200sx. with a grand or so coming my way too for bit of cheap worry free motoring ?

its this shape

Don't bother then. Thought it was a 2001/Y ish shape car which would have been great for the money. The shape you've posted was discontinued around about the time the one you are looking at was registered, it's an old, tired shape now. You can get a TDI in that shape from 2 grand on an N/P plate if you REALLY want one, but I wouldnt bother.

Ye im not really interested either. Was just he wants a sx. He seems to think its worth 4k...i know he will be a long time getting it. What would you put on it foxy :p
