Ok, my friend just brought a Golf mk4 TDI (90bhp version), and although he paid a premium for it (over £6k) he is rather happy with it, so i guess that makes me happy to (its nice to see friends happy!).
He brought it from a Listers garage, and the reason for buying the car was looks, reliability/reputation and peace of mind. (not looking for performance as in speed, as his last car was a 106!)
So i guess for him, its a perfect car for him, as it does everything he wants, and i guess it is his idea of good value for money.
I asked a few questions about the car, its done 37k (or 47k cant remeber!), but dont even know if it has alloys! And i am guesssing the worst part is that is has no air con! I'm also going to guess it wont have things like traction control, trip computer and the likes.
To me its a wee bit overpriced for what it is, and not the best of deals, but thats what you get for a "premium" car!
So to sum it up, one persons value for money is completly different from another persons.
What are your views on real value for money that would make you happy when buying a car?
