the PS3 is too hard to dev for

Keighley: Are you guys working on PlayStation 3 here now, trying to understand it, trying to get better at it?

Gabe: Uh,no. Not in any real way.

Oh well, everyone knows Valve games are far superior on PC anyway.

I'd rather they focus their efforts on continued development for PC, how they've supported Team Fortress 2 is simply fantastic.

Best developer going easily.

What do you mean "any more"? They've never really bothered with it in the first place.

Not much of an issue for me anyway, I'd much rather play stuff like HL2 on the PC anyway. L4D would be kind of cool though.

tbh they're just lazy.

They are a PC developer first, the 360 just happens to be easier to port PC games onto.

Be glad the 360 is even getting Valve games, I don't see how they are lazy either. Episode 3, TF2 content, Left 4 Dead content, Left 4 Dead 2 all on-going development.

What other developers pump out free DLC along with hilarious little websites to go along with them?

and let's not forget the brilliant movies they make for most the updates;

Eh? I never said they was lazy at the amount of games they're making now, i mean at saying the PS3 is too hard to develop for...Which is the subject matter...

I understand they say the PS3 is a lot of hassle but have they really tried to develop anything for it? If they don't want to make games for the tray they should just carry on developing for the 360 and P.C and just not bother even talking about the PS3 at all. In my eyes it's lazyness but if you don't need the extra money/hassle then hell they have no reason to develop games for the tray.

Well luckily Valve haven't left PC and blamed games selling bad on piracy (unlike EPIC) so they don't really have any need to go out of their comfort zone and try to tackle the PS3. To them it's probably not worth the time, they are still a PC developer at heart.

I don't think they will be needing money, they have Steam and have sold a lot of their own games. Team Fortress 2 must have sold loads by now especially with all the free content they've given it. (seriously there has been a lot of content)

Gabe: Uh,no. Not in any real way. I don't have time to eat all the pies I need, write pc games and learn the PS3. The PC and pies won my heart!

I added the bit that they removed from the interview :p

On a serious note, I prefer PC for their games but then I saying that from the point of view as a person that enjoys PC games.

At the end of the day, as little as it matters, as long as Valve keep doing what they are doing now, they will continue to get my money in exchange for the games they make.

It's down to valves lack of interest in the console I guess. Ohwell, Shame but it's their choice. I guess they've decided its more financially beneficial to leave the extra developement cost alone and just go with what they know. 360 and PC's normal architecture

who wants to play a valve game on a console anyway :p

Me... I have completely gone off gaming on PC.

Though I'm not too bothered about them not developing for PS3 as I have a 360, and my PC, though I don't play games on it any more, is still mroe than capable of playing games :)

Thing is Valve games are always that much better on PC, feels odd playing them on console.

TF2 is awful on 360, that game must be a nightmare on controllers and then there's the lag issues present on 360 and the rather washed out visuals.
