Valve Free Games

yeh its a good deal seeing as ati users had previously got these kind of bonuses
 
Ah right fair enough sorry :). Well its new to me anyway so maybe it’s new to other people too who haven’t previously seen the offer :).
 
Its all the free games you get when you buy things, just without the need to buy in the first place, lol! You get HL2 DM and HL2 Lost Coast when you buy HL2, and Peggle when you buy the Orange box (or maybe a single game from it, I dunno). But either way, free games are always good!

Now why cant they start giving away other non Valve free games away without purchase! Id love GTA and GTA2 (both free) but without having to buy the whole GTA pack (yes, im aware they are available free off the internet, but I couldnt think of any other free games to make my point)

thanks for the link, Breamy... activated that offer, but i wasn't aware HL2: Episode 1 was only £5. Gah, so many games on offer, so little time!

come the summer hols, i'm going to be gaming a lot, that's for certain.
 
If you are new to Steam gaming, the Orange Box is still the best games bundle ever known to man! HL2, Ep1, Ep2, Portal, TF2, and all the free stuff such as DM and Lost Coast and Peggle. Its almost as good as the package you got when you bought HL2 when it first came out. You bought HL2 Silver and got pretty much every other game Valve has released in the past... I actually created a new Steam account for it so I could have 2 versions of all the HL1 games and spin offs I had!

Actually, do you get the HL1 back catalogue when you buy the Orange Box?

I don't think so but you can pick up a half-life generations pack very cheaply and then enter all the keys into Steam and you get a load of extras.
 
Ah, ok.

My entire Steam list is mainly made up of the purchase of HL2 Silver, CS:S and The Orange Box. Means I have pretty much every HL related games ever! :)
 
Do I need to buy HL2 to play these free games? (got Deathmatch and Lost Coast with ATI)

Deathmatch loads ok but with Lost Coast I get a nice 'lost coast' screen and nothing happens :(
