Hey all,

I have been looking at getting a VR headset and been monitoring the Reverb G2 and really liked what i have seen in YouTube videos. I would like to use VR for all types of VR games and also simulators.

I have some issues with the G2 mainly the tracking and the controllers. My room is often very bright with the sun coming in and i dont have a blind or curtains and from what i understand inside out tracking just doesnt work if the room is to bright or if its completely dark. The controllers themselves also using aa batteries has put me off as i know you need a certain voltage of aa batteries, even though you can get rechargeable ones of these batteries it still bothers me that they are using aa batteries.

So this brings me to the valve index which from what i understand has the best tracking due to the lighthouses, the controllers have full finger tracking and they dont use aa batteries in the controllers but i as i understand the resolution isnt as good as the G2 and also there is a fair bit of god rays? in the index lenses, again this is just from what i am reading.

So my question is if you could get the Reverb G2 or the Valve Index which do you think would be best suited to my needs?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Thanks for the fast reply.

My main games would be Microsoft Flight Sim, il2, DCS World, Elite Dangerous and Assetto Corsa. As for VR games i would really like to try Bkyrim VR, Boneworks and Half life: Alyx.

Quest 2 is actually a good shout considering its price and the fact i have never had or even used VR i could be one of those people who end up getting motion sick very easily and then never use the headset again.
