Vampire: The masquerade Bloodlines 2

I'll be buying this then, but not playing it yet. I won't get it done in a week, and this time next week I'll be neck-deep in Dragon Age. Still, it'll languish on my hard drive just waiting for the early new year slump, when all the big games companies lock themselves in their iron towers to count their Christmas profits and plan out elaborate ways to punish gamers over the next 12 months.

Seeing as I'm too hungover to even consider dressing up and going out tonight, I'm going to buy this seeing as its only £4

Do i need to install the official patches before i apply the 6.5 unofficial one?

Yes, you do. Though I know with steam its automatically patched to the latest official version, not sure with D2D.

Also, for the love of god change the thread title! It got me the first time, and I just fell for it again!

I got it for a tenner a couple of months after it came out because of a boxing day sale.

Just another reason why you should never do your Christmas shopping before then.

Sounds very familiar, I think thats how I ended up with it too.

Just treated myself to this, heard a lot of good things about it yet somehow missed it when it was originaly released :)

Christ, how ****ing lame is this engine?

The source engine? Its pretty good actually ;)

The game was horribly buggy, but thats mostly because the game was rushed, combined with being one of the first source games reelased, alongside HL2.
It could have been so much better, but the community have been patching it ever since release, grab one of the community patches and it should be much better as well.

So what's the advised community patch? Any links?

I use the tessmage one. Cant link to it as it has naked women etc all over the website.

Just add ".com" to tessmage

This one basically just fixes bugs and thats it.

The other one that is found at planetvampire changes a lot of different things in the game aswell as fix some bugs. It makes the game a lot easier.

I was using a community patch (the 6.4 'non-plus' one) :)
Just really annoys me when game physics get broken by framerate, similar thing happened in Area51, if you have over ~100fps then jumping doesn't always work lol! GTA:SA where you have to drive a motorbike into the back of an aircraft too, only way I could do it was by using the framelimiter.

Nothing easier than to enable vsync specifically for the game in drivers, then you get superstable 60fps and no problems with the game at all.
