There's a big feud between the two main unofficial patch makers, if you go on the gamespot forums it's hillarious to read! When you think that they're at each other's throats over a game whose developer went bust 3 years ago it gives you an inkling of their dedication!:D

The Vampire and Werewolf lisences are now owned by CCP, the guys who make Eve Online, as they merged with White Wolf a year ago. If, as I suspect, they're developing an MMO out of this it's gonna be one to watch out for, cause I can't think of any other p'n'p RPG that would make a better MMO!

Quick Q - If I download this from Steam, what patche(s) should I install?

Fred

if you have never played Bloodlines before (you lucky lucky bar steward, what i woulsnt give to erase my memory of this game and play again - really is a masterpiece in my opinion though buggy) the version that comes from steam is already patched to the latest OFFICIAL patch.

I genuinely would stay with that as then you play it the way the developers intended.

then after you complete it patch it up to 1.6 unofficial and play again as one of the other classes - you can play as male or female and one of 6 classes of vampire.

I thought this was a great game EXCEPT for the fact that it throws you into third person when you melee somebody. It lost a lot of points for me in that respect as I believe that ANY game that uses third person, removes immersion. I have been patiently waiting for some bright person to come up with a way to run the entire game in first person.

I played the Vampire: The Masquerade-Redemption and totally loved every minute of it. Will this Bloodlines be like a sequel of the original one?

Is that the one set in medieval times? If so I don't think this is much of a sequel as it's set in modern times

One of the main bugs I had with the standard game was near the end when you meet Beckett. When he says "wait" I get stuck in the street with no chat options with him, or any sign of his character on the street.

In the end I had to get to the destination at that point through the sewers so thankfully wasn't too annoying. I'm hoping that when I try the game again with an unofficial patch it'll be fixed properly.

Fun game, my character (female) ended up doing *something* with a female vampire... the screen went black and there were moaning noises. Quite bizarre.

Definately a great game but a little rough round the edges.... I truly believe that the haunted hotel quest will never be beaten for most scary moment in a video game..... I think it borrows heavily from 'the shining' but that only adds to the horror!

I'd say it's the "most well done" horror section but I wouldn't say the scariest.

Ravenholme in Half Life 2 was definitely scarier IMO.

Well undying had some pretty damn scary moments but the haunted hotel was awsome :D:D
