Van insurance

What's the best place for van insurance?

I currently have my car and home/contents insurance with Norwich Union. They've quoted me £925 for a Mitsubishi L200 Animal, which seems steep.

Any specialist insurers out there?

ermm the L200 Animal aint a Van, its a 4x4 pickup if im not mistaken.

a pickup is classed as a van for insurance purposes.

oh my mistake, i thought it was under normal car insurance...as to the original question im not sure about van insurance (evidently) sorry.

have tryed any others? some may be cheaper than others.

Churchill want £780 which is an improvement.

There are loads of specialists on google, but I'm unsure as to who I can trust.

My brother works for CIS and he just said they will insure any pickup for £600 no matter who is the driver and its intended use. That includes imports too

It makes no odds if its a van or not, if its intended to be used privately then insurance should be dirt cheap.

For instance:

55 reg Merc 311 CDi £997 for business use as a courier.

55 reg Merc 311 CDI £300 fully comp for private use

Which seems funny as the same insurance company will insure me on a brand new 645 for only £40 more.

Pickup's are cheaper if they are insured under a buisness and therefore a commercial vehicle. If insured for personal use they can be quite expensive.
