My girlfriend and I moved to Vancouver earlier in the week so I thought I'd share some photos that I've taken over the past few days.

Thanks all. It's great to be taking photos again for myself, rather than people getting married.

Congrats - I love Vancouver - our family originates from there. It is stunning. I haven't been for a few years - I'd heard that there were more and more Chinese and Japanese there now, but in a good way. How have you found it?

We're loving the city as we've been quite lucky with the weather so far. There is a massive Asian population! We are staying in an area called Renfrew-Collingwood and we are in the minority here. I was surprised that much of the older generations don't seem to speak English, but the younger they are the more Canadian they sound.

I saw these on Facebook and it made me remember that you take pictures :)
Horsehead!

Haha, yeah it's nice taking photos again :)

I completely agree, people keep asking "Why Canada?" and all we can think of is "why not?". It really was just a spur of the moment decision that we followed through with :)

USA too difficult, Australia/New Zealand too far, they don't speak English in Asia and Africa is too hot. Europe is too close and who wants to go to South America anyway?

Am I right? :D

Haha, that pretty accurate actually!

You will be back in the damn UK when your girlfriend/wife tells you she misses her mum. That's what happened to me when we emigrated

I hope not. My girlfriend lives away from her Mum anyway so if it's going to be one if us it will be me :p

lovely images ScarySquirrel did you use a cpl to get the rich blue skys

Thanks. No CPL used, just edited in Lightroom using the graduated filter to bring out the colours a bit more.

Scary - you lucky lucky lucky barsteward.

Vancouver - just about my fave city in the world. Great city, stunning scenery and Growse mountain for skiing on your doorstep with whistler just a couple of hours away.

What are you doing out there to earn your living ???

Haha, thanks :)

I work as an Account Manager for a web agency, just started on Monday last week. It's what I had been doing in the UK for 6 years so the transition has been fairly smooth so far :)

Bonus is that it's 5 minutes walk from our apartment and right in Downtown close to everything

Here's a couple of more photos from the top of Grouse Mountain:
