Hi all

Happy new year and all that stuff...

Im here to ask what I can do to stop my car being scratched almost every other night by the local youths....

Long story cut short, I battered a few of the local youths for varoius reasons including opening my front door and trying to take my car keys (for a laugh they said! wtf!)

Since then on my old car I have found over 30 sratches on every panel.... not deep but enough to be visable and make the car look tatty.

Well that car died 3 weeks before xmas, so i treated myself to a mondeo 1.8 (98 model but in fantastic condition)

Since then, evey panel has been scratched, xmas eve, and new years eve...

I have a night vision camera set up pointing at the car, but i cant distinguish who it is scatching it, thay all wear dark hoodies...

Reported to the police, who dont care, nothing they can do unless you can clearly see who's doing it... Well its obvious... the ASBO families on the estate are doing it... Some have been threatened with eviction for other anti socal behaviuor reasons...

WHAT CAN I DO? other than get myself in trouble by hitting them again?

At the end of my teather now. Ready to sleep in the car to catch the little sh*ts at it...

There doesnt sound like a great deal you can do to be honest. It obviously sounds like there is no where else you can park, so thats out the question. A car cover maybe?
That might be a bit of a pain because you will need to keep putting it on and taking it off.

Maybe just keep pestering the police to actually do there job.
 
rent a garage somewhere nearby? Ask your local council / housing association if they have any garages in walking distance.

Otherwise you could park it in another street, somewhere you think it would be safer, or just move house.

There's nothing you can do to protect it where it is.
 
I like the idea of a paintball gun... however the police wouldnt see the funny side...

I cant move, im tied into my mortgage for 3 more years at this property...

There are no garages to let near me, unfortunatley...

Looks like im screwed... good job its only a cheap car then... I'll give up.

**I cant wait till they grow up and get cars of their own.... some serious vandalism will be done in sweet revenge...**

Might have to spend some money and make a drive out of the front garden, but thats a last resort as it wont be cheap.

Bah I hate chav scum and their narrow minded stupidness...

Might have to start painting "SCUM" on their cars with anti vandal paint.....
 
Some form of spring loaded net? Seriously though, you poor sod, I feel for you. Its things like this that make me wish we had proper laws to enable us to protect our property using whatever means necessary. They are basically animals, why can't law abiding citizens be allowed to put them down, humanely of course.

Yeh, but I would just be worried about retaliation.

However, I have "heard" of stories where several mates gang together to help in situations like this, wait in the bushes... then puts bags over their heads and stick them in a van. Take them into the woods - show them who is boss and leave them to find their way home. No trouble since.

Just use scare tactics. :)

I've heard of a couple of people who've done this. The trick is to be scary enough that they leave you alone forever, if you aren't you'll just have more grief off them.

A bloke I used to work with has a cousin who runs a security agency employing lots of ex-SAS types for bodyguarding, security in Iraq etc. I was told once that the cousin used his contacts/employees to "kidnap" his wifes ex (who was hassling her), drive him several hundred miles away to a deserted beach at night, make him dig his own grave at gunpoint (several apparently), then forced him to lie face down in it, before silently walking away and leaving him there. Apparently that worked quite well.

I know of another guy who was getting grief off some ASBO neighbours, so one night he had a big party and invited all his rugby mates and somehow the neighbours house/garden got substantially wrecked. :D

I don't think I'd do anything like that though, I'm too much of a scaredy cat and would be worried about getting caught. Prolly best to get better cameras and keep on at the police really.
 
install a wifi nigh vision camera in the car pointing out the window, it should get a pic of there face.

In the mean time report every scratch to the police for future reference.

I guess you'll have to move house or not have a car or put up with it :(

If you sit in your car and catch the kids doing it, grab them and ring the police...guess who'll be getting arrested? ;)
 
Im sure, as appealing as kidnapping the little gets is, thats a big NO NO... I dont fancy any jail time...


Im sure by me reacting to them I have made things worse...

1. I chased them with a hammer on a few occasions.
2. I tried to run one of them over in my car, actually mounting the kerb and pulled away at last miniute... watching him dive into a garden... (that was enjoyable - but very stupid)
3. Tried to reason with their parents who are as bad as they are... you canimagine the respose I got... "**** OFF" basically...
4. Made one family pay for a broken quaterlight window in the old car... which my neighbor saw him smash...
5. Having screaming matches inthe street with them
6. Hitting a couple of the and getting arrested for ABH... the copper even sympethised with me but had to arest me ffs...

Now they seem to see it as a big game, to wind the nutter up on the corner...

I have been in touch with the local Anti Social Behaviour Officer, and the forms they send are utter garbage.... and a waste of my time... She even understands the situation, but is powerless to do anything unless HARD evidence can be sought. FFS why is the law on the side of some jumped up little dick heads that roam like wild animals????

Wifi camera is looking to be the best option, hooked up to the pc for 24 hour recording (while at home)

Bah retarded asbo morons need to be culled....

sorry to hear your situation, carry on like that i think you'll end up dead!

i dont understand what u mean what u said that you're tied to the mortgage at your property. you can sell your house and move/transfer the mortgage to new property

if i got a situation same as yours, i'd move, no matter what, just move
 
I cant move, as I cant transfer my mortgage untill my 4 year "cheap" period ends... 3 years and counting.... (these were the terms for a 95% mortgage on self certification, sucks but thats what the fine print says ufortunately)

So I cant move house, and why should I move really, I have lived in the same place (not house) for 22 years now, I dont want to move... nor should i be bullied out of my house.

The law really really sucks turd big style ie:

"Ahhhh poor unfortunate asbo kids, lets take them to Disney Land, that'll make them behave better when they get back..."

When did we decide rewarding anti social behavour was a good thing... Bring back borstels.
 
I think you've tried everything you can, without kidnapping them.

If the car is already scratched to hell now, i'd probably just leave them to it and they'll get bored and find someone else to harass.
 
Im trying to Ignore them, but after 12 months its weaing a little thin now.

I reacted at first, and this has lead to the nightmare that ensued...


I might phone the police and say they are dealing drugs from their houses..... Then sit back and watch them get raided... Childish proabably, but satifying non the less.

wifi camera on order..... lol
 
Can't you set up sensors at night that'll beep pretty loud? i know cats will trigger them but it could detur them, you could set them up under your car for e.g.

Prolly a silly suggestion but sounds like your pretty desperate atm to get it sorted
 
lol yeah paint on thier parents car peodo...lol.

Are they living in coucil house....if so get on to your coucillor (not the council) they want your vote they will help especially if you keep on at them and maybe see if your neighbours can torture....sorry ask the coucillor to help.
