Just got an email from Fileplanet about the Vanguard beta. Said it will start in early January and you can download the client now.

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Client - 6.45GB

I hope its decent I've been waiting awhile for this.

Looks interesting, hopefully the link with SOE (even if just publishing) doesn't tarnish the games image with MMORPG gamers too much.

6.5GB LOL. Should come with a retail disc or something, for £2-3, I wouldn't mind.

6.5 Gb isn't that much for MMORPG betas, especially now with 10mb broadband+, though beta CD would be nice for some of these?

I have telewest 10mbps, I don't mind downloading it, but troublesome and downloading from fileplanet, doesnt really give the optimum speed 10mbps will allow unless you sign up for their membership or something.

I have a 4MB Telewest line and a annual membership and it's pretty rare that it maxes out the conenction. Usually hovers between 200/300KB

I used to be able to dl at over 300kbs on my 2mb from AOL now they must have changed the servers as i only get 233kbs, so another 8 hrs to go.

And if it's a closed beta where do we get the key for access, do FilePlanet hand them out next month?

I'm in another MMORPG beta anyway so won't be trying this one for a while.

Not really, if we dl it now then all we need to do is install when we get the keys, no w8ing 8-9hrs dl it first.

hmm looks like you need to unzip the file using the fileplanet dl manager otherwise it says corrupt!

wow the biggest file on my pc now, at 16+ gig

I played the closed beta for a while and it sucked hard. Really put me off the game, nothing hugly new and they dev's seemed to love their grinds.

Will be plesantly suprised if it's good...
