Mate of mine recieved two copies by mistake and has sent me a copy.

Anyone know if you get a free 30 days with the game?

If it's split into servers, which is the best to join and can you swap once your character is created?

What is the monthly cost?

Is it playable without hitting a show stopping bug every ten minutes?

Cheers to those in the know! :)

I heard from some halfwit, forget his name now, that it's an 18Gb install! Then you have to download extra content whilst you have a bacon buttie and some 'personal time'! ;) :D

BTW, yes you do get a free 30 day trial! :p

Cost 8 or 9 pounds per month

Servers you want to be joining 1 of the Uk Servers for players on the same time zone.

It is very playable. Wanting to pay for it in its current state is debatable.
I just cancelled my sub for a year. But will be back to check up

I'd suggest the Gelenia server which is PvE. The only PvP server in Europe (Frengrot) has only a fraction of the population of Gelenia, and the vast majority are very anti-social on that server.

Yeah it comes with a free month. I've played it from release and just cancelled my subscription. Its an awesome game that has a lot of potential but its still in beta stage, the bugs, CTDs, lack of content etc just got to much for me. Hopefully in a few months it'll look somewhat like a finished game.

Played on that server as well and was probably one of the best, the game showed promise in the beggining but then the devs started to water it down  TBH you'd be better off playing wow instead at least you don't have to put up with constant lag spikes and ctd's that get you killed or loose your materials when crafting, and even though they advertise it as haveing 3 spheres only adventureing is really supported by the dev's whilst anyone playing as a crafter or diplomat costantly ends up getting shafted by the devs

Tried that but couldn't get into it, not sure why but I really think the visual style put me off a lot, shallow as that sounds it's important when you plan to spend a couple of thousand hours looking at it :)

Unlucky, I could have helped you out like in the good old days ;)

I know what you mean. I was pretty much a constant crafter, mineralogist, and the lack of additions/fixes to the crafting sphere was a big factor to why I quit. I can understand why they are concentrating on adventuring though, as most people arn't interested in crafting/diplomacy. It leaves us non-adventurers feeling unnoticed though.

Oh, and I played WoW for well over a year, i'd pick a buggy Vanguard over WoW anyday. :D

Wasn't it me who was always helping you out? :p

I'll be back in Vanguard eventually, probably come back in a month or two once the game has been patched up a bit more. If you're looking for a guild on Frengrot (shadow side) i'll get one of my old guild officers to send you an invite. :p

Shame it looks like this

It does that about every ten steps.

Buggeration! I ordered this the other night while I was drunk. Looks like I should seal it up in a box marked not to be opened till xmas. Maybe it will be an ok game by then?

Wow, how did you make it look like that? It's not that bad, seriously. I've been playing it since launch and while it's still a bit rough around the edges, it makes up for it in other areas. The character classes are cool, nice and complex, and you never hear people complaining about their class. The landscape is very well done and worth exploring (when you can see it ;) ). Some very atmospheric dungeons too.

That was kind of my point, I didn't make it look that bad, it's a glitch, the whole damn screen goes blue and I can see through the floor more often than not.

Is it a well know bug then?

Sleepery wheres all the water gone in Khal!!

GFX wise it's on par with EQ2 (which is more than reasonable), the classes are by far the best I've come across in any MMG with a brilliant variation on how to play diffrent classes of the same archtype. Game play can be a little slow post 25 but I've always enjoyed MMGs that require a little more thought.

Really enjoying it myself.

Sweet the only thing I can think of offhand is to turn off hardware occlusion in the graphics settings. I've never come across your particular problem, but this setting did cause textures to disappear and re-appear with some graphics drivers.

Well, fortunately the problem has fixed itself, however so far the world feels a little sparse to say the least!

I'll give it time though :)

Couldn't be bothered to watch the whole movie. :p

But from what I saw, you were in a player housing area. Which has no mobs/quests or anything, which is intended. You can walk around those areas all you want, and see nothing but landscape and a few houses! Some of the housing areas are massive.

Just follow your questlines, when you get to level 10 you'll get a horse so you can travel around a lot faster.

I'd suggest making friends or finding a guild as soon as possible. Vanguard is definatly not a solo game.

:) Might stick with it then, I thought things were a little empty
